The pair of 18th century LOUIS XV provincial mirrors in C-scroll carved wooden frames, with vine leaves,  pierced and gilded, decorated to the amortization of stylized vase filled with foliage and seasonal fruit. The parclose mirrored falls and skirt decorated with rocaille scrolls, vines, grapes and fruit  Provincial works, of the 18th century, Southern France,  Circa.1760

18th century Louis XV Provence: At that time was one of the most important region to manufacture mirrors. The best known are those of Beaucaire . They are recognize by the quality carvings of their grapes, vine leaves and branches . The pediment is often a bouquet garni. This is achieveable due to the quality of the wood in the region, wood is soft and more prevalent in this region. It facilitated the work of the sculptor. Installation is also very particular to the south . It consists of a set of rails that are assembled and pegged . Another feature is the large mirror in the center is surrounded by small mirrors that are ind├ępandants. The most beautiful Provencal mirrors have very pronounced scrolls in the four corners. The acanthus leaf is also very representative of this region. These mirrors are of excelent quality, the decor is remarkable and an example of decorative arts which held an importants in the Provencal regions of the South of France. The mecury glass and  the gilding is original, an asset to their charm.
