AN 18TH CENTURY LOUIS XV WALNUT ARMOIRE, DE BRESSE BOURGUIGNONNE, CIRCA 1745.
Made of solid walnut, the oregin of this Armoire is attested by the elegant carving and shaped cornice, traditional of BRESSE ( Dijon, Burgundy ) region. The shaped cornice, above a decorated pediment of finely carved outsized Spring flowers and foliate grape vine motifs, traditional to the region.
The two doors each with C scrolled carved panels, The center panel of the doors elegantly decorated with foliate entwined grape vine relif centere by a roccoco carved urn, above a C-scrolled shaped apron.
Fitted with iron cast hinges and bronze cast escutcheons, on conforming scrolled feet.
