An 18th Century Louis XV Ormolu Mounted Kingwood and Bois Satine Serpentine Commode. CIRCA 1735.
The shaped Plateau Rouge Royal marble top above two shaped single drawers and a further two sepentine shaped long draws on three rows, visible, decorated in Kingwood and bois satine cross-band, papillon ( butterfly wing ) marquetry, with thin ribbon entwined fleur-de-lis borders, with gilt bronze piereced foliate angle mounts and foliate-wrapped splayed feet ornaments,
Similarly decorated with rocaille, foliate-cast handles and key escutcheon plates.
