AN 18TH CENTURY LOUIS XV/XVI TRANSITIONAL PERIOD, GILTWOOD MIRROR. CIRCA 1770
The shaped rectangular plate within a pierced mirrored surround carved ornately and decorated with vine leaves, grapes, rose garlands and vitruvian-scrolls, all around its frame, surmounted by a pierced C-scroll cartouche centred by an foliate, grapevine garland 'en corbeille', decorated with beautiful foliage and grapes, emblematic of the grape harvest, the apron with a rose basket, on scrolled supports. Provençial works of the 18th century, Southern France. Circa 1770
