Made of solid and rich cherrywood, the oregin of this Armoire is attested by the presence of the "Chapeau de Gendarme" shaped cornice, traditional of La Rochelle in the De La Vendee region. The Chapeau Gendarme shaped cornice, decorated with a carved undulating edge. Stylised floral and foliate carving to the frieze. The fielded scrolled door panels centred with floral and foliate filled flower-baskets, fitted with the original foliate scrolled steel escutcheons and long hinges. Fluted sides and central door panels. The foliate carved, scrolled apron centered with rococo shell, on short cabriole legs with scrolled feet.
